Now, we will walk you through how to register & transfer new baby goats at MDGA.
You will receive a written MDGA application form from your breeder/ seller. But registering through online @ MDGA is a lot faster and simpler for everyone.

What you need to prepare
You will need 3 photos of
1) front face,
2) side face,
3) side body
Examples of photos
I try to edit other goats from the picture and chose photos that show the best of the goat's description that you are applying.
If the goat has a good roman nose, show that type of photo. If the goat has pendulous ears, show the best relaxed long ears on the photo.

Other things
You will need to have Sire & Dam's names and their registration numbers.
You will need to have your or breeder's MDGA membership number if you / they have.
You will need to have tattoo numbers for the new goat.
(You will need to have your Herd Name & Tattoo ID registered at MDGA)

You will need to know how to describe the looks of the goat.
After you register, you will need to pay 2 fees (Registration fee & transfer fee) through
PayPal or Credit card at
**I usually send "PayPal's payment receipt photo" to the registrar to confirm that I have paid.
There is another way to register other than online but it might take longer.

When you purchased a " Bred Doe" and needs to register her kids

When you purchase a bred doe, things are slightly different from simple way.
1) The doe was bred at the seller / breeder's place.
2) The babies are born at your place
1) Babies were conceived at the seller / breeder's place, therefore, babies will carry seller / breeder's herd name.
2) Babies were born at your place so when you tattoo them, they will have your herd tattoo.

How to transfer the ownership with registered the goat @MDGA
You will need to transfer the ownership of the goat from the seller to the buyer. You can do it when you are registering the goat at the same time.
or
You can transfer after you have the registration which is still the seller's ownership.
This registration paper needs to be written all the info by the seller.
It's also wise to get a "Bill of Sale" from the seller.

If you are registering a goat as a breeder, you can use TMGR online registration application.
You need to prepare: one head photo, one side view photo and photo(s) of any random markings.
If registering an MDGA registered animal, you can send a photocopy of the registration certificate and a photo of the goat, and the photo of registration fees receipt to TMGR registrar's email.

Any F3 through F5 animals meeting the breed standard requirements for American animals will be considered for American Status after reaching one year of age. If said animal currently has registration papers, send the original papers with quality pictures that include a front and side view along with height measurements at 1 year of age or more. New registration papers for qualifying animals will be issued as American. Goats must be measured by someone other than breeder. Please indicate measurement, name of person measuring, their signature and date measured. There will be a Certificate Change Fee, if applicable.
